Audition COACHING

Deryn, a former actress, studied with many teachers but had the pleasure of studying the longest with Michael Shurtleff, who wrote AUDITION.  She worked with such directors as Ridley Scott and Mike Figgis and alongside actors such as Andy Garcia and Richard Gere. She directed theater including A Garden Full of Snow with Angelica Huston. She became a directing fellow at the American Film Academy and then directed three feature films including Black Magic Woman with Mark Hamill of Star Wars Fame. She wrote HOW TO MAKE YOUR AUDIENCE FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU, recommended by Harvard and UCLA.

Having watched hundreds of auditions she knows actors must stand out with energy and exciting choices, filled silences and they must RISK! She teaches actors a solid technique so their talent can soar. (The classses are fun too.)

Her students work in a variety of TV shows and films.

ACTING CLASS

Deryn teaches actors how to risk , how to rise above the crowd and how to make exciting choices. Learning a perfect audition technique improves all your acting skills. Although the class is primarily about auditioning, we also do improvisations and script analysis using plays and contemporary screenplays. The class is recommended by the head of casting of HBO Films. The LA Times said, "No wonder students clamor to take Warren's class: the comments are dead-eye accurate." The class is small, professional, friendly and the students help each other find work. 

Zoom Classes are every Tuesday at 12:30pm PST. 

In-Person Classes will be Every Tuesday at 7 Pm PST. These classes will provide more room for added technique practice.

VIRTUAL SLATE

Is a start up partnership established by Deryn Warren and Jan Reesman to obtain financing for a slate of films. The films fall within the popular genres of family, horror, action/adventure and thriller and are commercial projects chosen to maximize profits for the investor. All films are intended for theatrical release, but should also perform superbly in the domestic and foreign DVD markets.

Most of the projects are budgeted at $5,000,000. There are two in the under $3,000,000 category and one at $750,000. The projects have been fully developed, have directors attached and are ready to begin pre-production immediately. All attached directors have feature film experience, and include Emmy award winners.
